Liking what is going on...
Just wanted to say, I'm feeling better knowing that the next few weeks, at least, we have a direction. I was feeling lost. For me personally, it will be good to find out why we are named "X-ile" and where that name came from. Thanks everyone!!!
Alli, we missed you! We did have a very illuminating discussion and the details are coming soon about next week. A preview:
We are going to read thru the end of 2nd Chronicles together one chapter at a time, and then add Acts into the mix when we get to a parallel. We are going to meet at Patti's house this week and just talk about the foundational scripture for the next several weeks until we understand what it is that is forming our identity. I have learned through this process so far that:
1. I assume WAY too much 2. My communication skills are terrible 3. One major reason that people don't start new things is because the discomfort level is so huge so often, that it really turns people off. I am afraid that there is a great deal of additional discomfort coming just because of the nature of what we are doing, probably for a long time... I hope we can all be ready for it and get through it together! If this was comfortable or normal, we wouldn't be doing nearly as much good as I think we are doing and we are going to continue to do. It's an exciting time!!!
Huh...that's some list. I don't think you're a "terrible communicator". I feel like my life took off right when I wanted to be more involved with X-ile. You told me that we're supposed to be IN the world, so don't feel bad about it. That's what I needed to hear. Speaking of which, I have to work til 8:30 pm on Tues. I'll be late but I'll try to be there. Thanks, Alli.
